    GPC is dotted with state of the art equipment and highly skilled personals has engaged in accreditation program for which several testing methods are accredited by ISO 17025.


    Surface and Thermal Testing

    1-   X-Ray Photoelectron Spectrometer, AXIS Ultra DLD (XPS) including (SAM,ISS,MS &UPS)


    • XPS for Elemental  surface analysis with identification of the oxidation states for  each element and surface chemical bonding’s.    
    •  AES for Surface elemental analysis with the top layer of thickness of few angstrom.
    •  UPS for the Valance band energy and band gap of semiconducting materials.
    •  All of the above using Depth profiling as option .

    2-      X–ray diffractometer (XRD) for Material morphology, surface analysis ,catalytic activity and catalyst characterization.

    3-      Handheld X–ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometer for analysis of elements in metal alloys.

    4-      ChemiSorb 2750, dual-station Chemisorption Analyzer for pulse chemisorption and Physisorption analysis of dispersed metal catalyst materials.

    Applications :-  

    •       BET Analysis (only surface area)
    •       TPR,TPD,TPO and TP Reactions.

    5-      High pressure Thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) (RUBOTHERM)

    Applications :-  

    • Thermal analysis and measuring gas adsorption on solid materials at high Pressure and temperature.
    • Corrosion studies, catalyst testing, modification and decomposition studies.

    Oil and Gas Analytical Testing

    1. Gas chromatograph with mass spectrometer detector (GC–MS), automated thermal desorber (ATD), and headspace trap (HST) for 1- Determination of BTEX in water and soil 2- VOC’s in water and AIR.

    2. Gas chromatograph with pulsed flame photometric detector (PFPD) and flame ionization detector (FID) for Determination of trace Sulfur compound in light petroleum liquid and analysis of hydrocarbons and LPG, fuels and LPG analysis.

    3. Liquid chromatograph with mass spectrometer detector (LC–MS) for Determination 0f polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in water.

    4. Gas chromatograph with thermal conductivity detector (GC–TCD) Analysis of CO2 and H2s in Aqueous Solutions.

    5. Gas chromatograph with flame ionization detector (FID) and thermal conductivity detector (GC–TCD) for Methane reforming gases analysis.

    6. Density meter for Density, Relative Density and API gravity of liquids.

    7. Stabinger viscometer for Kinematic viscosity of transparent and opaque liquids.

    8. Karl Fischer (KF) titrator .Determination of water content in petroleum products ,lubricating oil, additives, organic liquids and solid sample.

    9. CO2 analyzer  for CO2 Contents in Gas stream.

    10. Natural gas analyzer (NGA)  for Natural gas composition.

    11. Rotary evaporator for Solvent separation .

    Water Analysis


    1. Total organic carbon (TOC) analyzer for Total Organic Carbon (TOC) in aqueous and solid samples.

    2. UV–Vis spectrophotometer. for COD in waste water.

    3. Liquid chromatograph with mass spectrometer detector (LC–MS) for Determination 0f polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)in water.

    4. Fourier transform infrared (FT–IR) spectrometer for fingerprinting and characterization of materials.

    5. Super speed vacuum centrifuge (30,000 rpm).

    6. Combined potentiometer, pH, conductivity, and total dissolved solids (TDS) meter.

    Kinetic  and Thermodynamic studies


    1. Automated Reactors & Calorimeters for thermodynamic studies of liquids and kinetics of reactions.

    2. High pressure stirred cell Reactor for Gas-Liquid reactions at high pressure.

    3. Stopped flow apparatus . for Kinetic studies at atmospheric pressure.

    Mechanical and imaging Testing


    1. Infrared (IR) camera (FLIR ) for infrared camera for thermal mapping.

    2. High–speed camera system for fast movements and play them back in slow motion.

    3. Hydraulic Pressure Testing System (Resato).

    4. For Measurement of pressure and elongation of pipes by fluid or oil pressure .

    5. Drivetrain Prognostics Simulator (DPS For simulation of industrial drivetrain for diagnostics and prognostics research).

    6. Particle image velocimeter (PIV) system (For Measures fluid flow using laser imaging).

    7. Laser vibrometer. For measure the vibration of objects non-intrusively using laser Doppler technology.

    8. Waveform Recorder – DL750 ScopeCorder. For Waveform recorder (12 channels).

    Note :- The equipment of category E still under commissioning.
